This week, we celebrated a very special moment at SIX Convention Point: the 50th update session of the Working Group Common API.

What started almost nine years ago has grown into one of the most impactful collaborative efforts in Switzerland’s API and OpenBanking landscape under the leadership of Jürgen Petry. This milestone was the perfect occasion to reflect on our journey and the achievements across the different streams:

  • Stream Lead “Payment”: Sven Biellmann & Raul Guirao
  • Stream Lead “Cards”: Christian Gmehling
  • Stream Lead “Mortgage/Loans”: Stephan Gerber
  • Stream Lead “Pension”: Marco Seiz
  • Stream Lead “OpenWealth API”: Thomas Lusti (OpenWealth Association)
  • Stream Lead “API Security & Consent Management”: Michael Brandmaier

We were also pleased to have special guests with us: Dominik König gave insights into the Working Group’s GitHub contributions, Mike Hofmann presented the first multibanking offering for private customers, and Rino Borini inspired us with his keynote on international open banking developments.

Thank you for broadening our perspective and showing us what our colleagues are achieving abroad – it was truly motivating & inspiring.

A huge thank you to Jürgen Petry for leading this initiative with passion, to all stream leads for continuously pushing the boundaries, and to all participants and partners who have made this working group such a success.

Here’s to the next 50 updates and to further shaping the API landscape in Switzerland!
