SFTI – Swiss Fintech Innovations welcomes the launch of the standard for the digital pension certificate for vested benefits foundations and Pillar 3a pension foundations by Verein Vorsorge Schweiz (VVS). The standard was developed in collaboration with VVS, the association bvg-digital, VVS members, and the SFTI Open Pension and Common API communities.
By extending the digital pension certificate to vested benefits and Pillar 3a assets, Switzerland is taking another step towards more accessible and digitally usable pension information. The QR code standard enables key information from pension certificates to be represented in a structured and machine-readable format and reused in digital applications.
For SFTI, this is a concrete example of how common standards create practical value. The work is closely linked to SFTI’s Open Pension initiative and the SFTI Common API working group, which has expanded the technical foundation with Pension API Version 4, including support for vested benefits and Pillar 3a certificates.
“The digital pension certificate is a very tangible example of the value that common standards can create: Pension data becomes easier to access and can be used more effectively in further digital services. For SFTI, this is an important step towards an open, secure and customer-centric pension ecosystem in Switzerland,” says Stephanie Wickihalder, President of SFTI.
SFTI thanks Verein Vorsorge Schweiz, the association bvg-digital and all participating market players for their constructive collaboration and commitment. The next step is to further drive implementation in the market and make the digital pension certificate widely usable.
