Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Managing Director to lead our organization with a focus on operational excellence including good governance, member engagement, financial sustainability, and external representation. It is particularly important to develop and implement projects with and for our members and to produce regular output that clearly demonstrate the value of the organization to its members.
Reporting to the Board, the Managing Director will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of resources, driving marketing and event planning initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and members.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement and satisfaction among members.
Management of Resources: Oversee the Office Manager, Working Group Coordinator and Directors, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support organizational goals.
Financial Reporting & Budget Management: Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure financial health and sustainability.
Marketing: Drive marketing strategies to enhance the organization’s brand visibility and outreach.
Event Planning: Oversee the planning and execution of events to support organizational objectives and member engagement.
External Representation: Act as the face of the organization, fostering partnerships, and representing the organization at key events and meetings.
Operations and Governance: Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all organizational functions, implementing best practices for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within broader financial industry and/or association.
Strong background in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
Demonstrated success in member engagement, marketing, and event planning.
Experience in managing teams and optimizing resources.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to think strategically and execute operational plans effectively.
